Introduction

Napoleon cats have their owners wrapped round their little finger, and it’s easy to see why. These beautiful cats have silken fur and big round eyes - it takes a fair bit of self-control to resist giving them an extra treat.

Napoleons are renowned for their friendly nature. They have an inherent playfulness and a high natural intelligence, the combination of which means that these cats are alway delightful to play with. You’ll form a strong, doting bond with your little Napoleon in no time at all.

Did you know? Wondering why they’re called Napoleon? Another common name for this cat breed is Minuet, but they get this other name from the French general Napoleon Bonaparte. Although you may think that this is a form of flatter, it’s actually because (like Napoleon himself), these cats are notoriously short.

History

Napoleons are a cross breed between Persian and Munchkin cats. Napoleons were first intentionally bred in 1996, which makes them a very new introduction to the world of cat breeds.

Personality

Napoleon cats are remarkably chill. Their needs are simple - affection, food and games will go a long way towards keeping them happy. The key thing to remember with these cats is that being around you is hugely important to them. These cats are notoriously sociable, and it is this trait which makes them so loving. But, the flipside of this is the fact that Napoleons need owners who can commit to spending plenty of time with them. If you can dedicate plenty of time to chilling with them, then you’ll have an adoring companion for life.
