Introduction
Manx cats are all about the chill life. These sweet felines are notably even tempered, which means that they are really very content just going about their daily life, simply as long as you’re there by their side. What’s wonderful about Manx cats is that they are also known for their chattiness. Wondering what we mean by this? Well, Manx owners often find that their doting kitty will respond to their conversation, with a happy little trill of their own. We can’t help but be moved by that.
Did you know? One of the unusual features which Manx cats are probably most known for is the fact that they don’t have a tail. Instead, Manx cats have a small stump (which are officially known as ‘stumpies’). They are actually the only official cat breed which have been specifically bred to not have a tail.
History
The official history of the Manx breed has not quite been determined. According to official records, however, we can trace the lineage of Manx cats back to around the 1750s. It is likely that Manx cats started off in Britain, on the Isle of Man.
Personality
Manx cats have a gorgeous roundness to their features, including both their face and their deep eyes. This means that they have that adorable ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ kind of look about them. These charming cats also have a number of other loveable personality traits. In addition to being caring and doting, they are highly intelligent pets, and even have the ability to learn tricks.
