Introduction
Originating from Thailand, the Korn Ja is a very popular cat in Thailand and increasingly around the world. In its home country, it’s a breed mentioned in the Smud Khoi of Cats, or a book about cats, where it’s considered a cat of good luck, which is quite interesting seeing as though black cats are typically seen as a sign of bad luck. One thing, however, is for certain. These are beautiful cats that are sure to win your heart.
History
As we said above, the Korn Ja is a breed found in the Smud Khoi of Cats, a traditional Thailand book all about cats. This dates the cats throughout the 1900s, but there are few records of this cat existing before this time. In fact, there’s really not that much-recorded history on Korn Jas at all, which makes it hard to give accurate information.
These days, Korn Jas have been exported around the world and while not the most popular breed in the world, there’s certainly a fan base for them in households across the West.
Personality
If you’re looking out for a cat that’s affectionate and has a lot of love to give, then the Korn Ja is certainly the cat for you. This is the type of cat that loves to follow their owners around the house, love to nuzzle and headbutt you, and won’t be shy around children, strangers, or other pets.
That makes these cats one highly adaptable breed, and they’ll even do well when living with dogs. What’s more, since these cats have so much energy, you can be safe in the knowledge there’s a lot of beautiful play times ahead of you.
