Introduction
Javanese cats are absolutely iconic. These cats that look very similar to Siamese cat breeds have long been around human beings and enjoying lovely relationships with them. Their calm and accepting temperament makes them ideal for fitting in with any kind of household or family. Curious, excitable, and playful, these cats are nothing short of a joy to have around.
History
It’s a common misconception that Javanese cats come from and originate from the Pacific Island of Java, but the truth is that this would be a far more interesting section if they were. The truth is that Javanese come from a breed of Siamese and Balinese mixe, which basically make this cat a longhaired Siamese, and that’s pretty much it.
The only registry in the world that recognises this breed, at the time of writing, is the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) that wanted to differentiate the Siamese and Balinese breeds, an officiation that took place in 1987.
Personality
Javanese cats are extremely similar to their Siamese counterparts in the fact that they absolutely adore being around their humans and want nothing more than to give you as much affection as possible. They love being active and playing games (which makes it even more fun to play around with these cats), and after a long day of playing, they love cuddling up and falling asleep.
The only thing you’ll want to be aware of is that these cats can talk a lot, especially if they’re feeling a bit needy, so be prepared for lots of meowing and fun times!
