Introduction

Ragamuffin cats are just about as chill as they come. These cats are cosy, cuddly and absolutely full of love. So, if you enjoy a cuddle, then you’ve got a perfect companion here. In fact, Ragamuffins are known for cuddling up to humans just like a little baby.

When it comes to keeping your Ragamuffin happy, it’s all pretty simple. Just give them the endless fuss that they crave.

Did you know? This level of chill also extends itself to their fear factor, too. Ragamuffins are known for being remarkably brave. Although this might sound like a good thing, this can actually reach a level that is dangerous. As a result, it wouldn’t be advised to allow your Ragamuffin out of the house.

History

Ragamuffin cats are close relatives to the Ragdoll cat breed (hence the ‘Rag’ part of the name). Interestingly, this extension of the Ragdoll family was introduced for a number of key reasons, particularly those regarding genetics and creating new visual traits. However, Ragdolls are known for having a very carefully regulated breeding problem. As a result, this branch of the breed was formed. Ragamuffins were formed by breeding Ragdoll cats with other breeds (including Persian and Himalayan cats) in order to achieve these desired characteristics.

Personality

Ragamuffin cats are a big ball of cosy fur. Their priorities are simple - for them, a cuddle on your lap is the best possible start (and middle and end) to a day. When they’re not lazing about with you, Ragamuffins are clever cats. They enjoy a good play, and you’ll both have a lot of fun learning new tricks together.
