Introduction

The Lambkin is one of those breeds that are completely adorable, affectionate, and lovely to have around, yet they’re still fairly rare, and so few people have actually heard of them, despite them being around for quite some time. However, once you discover the Lambkin and share your life with one, it’s hard to imagine life without one! And why would you want to? These cats are amazing!

History

While the Lambkin is a relatively new breed, there’s really not that much known about its origins. It’s said to have appeared around the 1980s or 1990s under the name Nanus Rex, but this isn’t clear. The records that do exist suggest that a breeder known as Terri Harris founded the breed by crossbreeding the Selkirk Rex with Munchkins, and thus this breed was made.

Over the years, the breed has started to become recognised, and at the time of writing, is already recognised officially by organisations like The Dwarf Cat Association and the International Cat Associations. We’re sure that due to their beautiful appearance and kind nature, this is a level of popularity that will only increase over the coming years.

Personality

Lambkins have such wonderful personalities, it’s hard to know where to begin, They are full of seemingly unending affection for their owners and humans in their lives, and some even go as far as to say that this is a level of affection that outscales some dog breeds. This also means they get on well with children and love playtime.

While these cats don’t need a lot of exercise, they will need to run around lots to satisfy their need to play and be active. Just spend some time with your cat, and you’ll be rewarded with lots of lovely cuddles that will fill you with joy.
