Introduction

Have you ever seen a dog as beautiful as the Chi Staffy Bull? A mix between a Chihuahua and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, these dogs may be small and compact, but this breed is far from being a traditional yappy dog. Instead, these pups are highly intelligent, super adaptable, and have nothing less than a lot of love and affection to give.

History

The Chi Staffy Bull is a hybrid breed that originates in the US, but there is very little known about where breeding started since it has been so recently. However, we know a lot about the parent breeds: the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Chihuahua.

The Staffy is a classic English dog that comes from Bulldog and Mastiff heritage as far back as the early 1900s that was officially registered by organisations like the AKC in the 1970s. However, the Chihuahua has an even older history, with records saying that this pup was popular in countries like Mexico as far back as the 9th Century!

Personality

Chi Staffy Bulls make amazing family dogs because they’re so lovable, curious, and eager to please. Due to their pack mentality, they can be very protective and alert, only wanting what is best for the family, but this can mean they get a bit tense when around strangers or other dogs. However, this can be dampened with training from an early age.

These dogs are also very smart and do have an independent side which can make training difficult. This is why it’s not recommended to get yourself a Chi Staffy Bull if you’re a first-time dog owner. Be sure you’re assertive and firm if you want the best results!
