Introduction
The Jackhuahua is a crossbreed between a Chihuahua and a Jack Russel Terrier. One of the current generation of "designer dogs" the Jackhuahua, has a mix of traits from both of it's parents. This breed is not a pedigree breed and is not recognised by any kennel clubs or any other pedigree groups. In spite of this, for those who want a small, energetic, and playful dog, the Jackhuahua is a good choice.
History
The history of the Jackhuahua is not very long, and there are no clear sources as to how the breed was started. Designer dog breeds tend not to be well documented. However, one significant step in their history was the breed being recognised by the International Designer Canine Registry in two thousand and nine and have continued to be recognised by more designer dog and crossbreeds registers.
Personality
As a cross between the Chihuahua and the Jack Russel, the Jackhuahua has inherited the energetic, playful, alert, and affectionate natures from its parentage. They have also inherited some of the less desirable traits, as some can be predisposed to nervousness or hyperactivity. With training and early socialisation, these issues can be negated so your Jackhuahua can be confident and well behaved. Jackhuahuas love being playful and can be fantastic family pets; however, they need to be supervised with young children to make sure that everyone plays nicely and no one gets injured.
