With the parent breed coming at number six in the UK dog breed popularity rankings, Golden Labradors are by far one of the most iconic, most beautiful, and most renowned dog breeds in the world. There’s no doubt about it. These dogs are famous for their lovable, easy-going nature, their effortless loyalty and obedience, and how stunning they look. Whether bred for companionship or as working dogs, many believe Golden Labradors are as close to being the perfect dogs as a breed can be.

Golden Labradors are bred by cross-breeding two of the most iconic dog breeds in the world: Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers. These new Golden Labradors are actually still a hybrid breed that started to appear over the last decade or two (and there many global Kennel Clubs that don’t actually recognise this dog as a breed just yet), so there’s not a lot of history to share.

However, the parent breeds have been around for a long, long time, some records even dating the Labrador Retriever as far back as the 1700s, meaning you know these are dogs that are trusted to be really good boys (and girls!)!

Taking leaves out of their parent’s books, Golden Labradors are nothing short of lovable. They love being around people and want nothing more than to see a smile on your face. What’s more, Golden Labradors are incredibly easy to train, making them ideal for first-time dog owners. The only real problem you’ll need to consider is that these dogs hate being left alone and will get destructive when they’re bored, so give them lots of love and attention and you’ll be fine (not that this is in any way a chore!)
