Introduction

Cockachons are designer dogs that really haven’t been around that long, but they’re already making waves within the dog owner world for their cute aesthetic and lively attitude. Bred from mixing Bichon Frise dogs with traditional Cocker Spaniels, these are clearly an intelligent breed of dogs and since they’re so adaptable, they can be enjoyed by families of any kind of household!

History

There’s not too much to say when it comes to the Cockachon’s history since they’re a relatively new breed that has sprung up over the last few years (perhaps two decades at most). They are bred by mixing Bichon Frise, a pup that has European origins from the Canary Islands and Mediterranean parts of the world.

These have been mixed with the American Cocker Spaniel, which are just British Cocker Spaniels, but the ones that were bred after they were exported to the US back in 1902. British Cockers were strictly working dogs for many years, whereas American Spaniels have always been bred as companion pets.

Personality

Personality-wise, Cockachons are incredibly smart and train well, and due to their gentle and loving attitude, they get on very well with children, other pets, and strangers. These pups also adore being at the centre of attitude, so as long as you’ve got a lot of love to give, you’re going to be able to make these dogs very happy within your family.
