Introduction

A handsome designer dog the Springador is slowly gaining popularity in the UK and beyond. Friendly, energetic, and loyal, these dogs are good for families. They are a mix between Labradors and Springer Spaniels and have inherited a lot of positive traits from both sides of their parentage. Loveable like Labradors and hard working like Springer Spaniels this breed makes an excellent family dog.

History

As a designer dog the history of this breed is not very well known. It’s thought that gamekeepers have been breeding Labradors and Springer Spaniels by accident or on purpose for years. While it’s agreed that this is a modern breed it’s agreed that the breed has more than likely been used in the dog sporting world for years under different names or as a crossbreed. They are not designed for a specific job however they have shown themselves to be good hunting dogs, although their parental breeds have been shown to be somewhat better in this regard.

Personality

As a modern crossbreed their temperament hasn’t fully settled, however they are considered to be friendly, loyal, and high energy. Springadors make fantastic family pets if you are able to keep up with their high energy nature. They can get on very well with children and other animals if they are supervised. To keep them friendly and confident they need to be socilaised to new people and experiences from a young age. Due to their intelligence and the intelligence of their parentage they can learn a large amount of tricks with relative ease.
