Introduction

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is one of two Corgi breeds that originate from Wales (the other being the Pembroke Welsh Corgi) and is clearly one of the most adorable dog breeds in the world. These little bundles of joy are hand’s down one of the most loyal and fun dogs you’ll ever meet.

There’s nothing these dogs love more than being around their humans, making them happy and smiling, and playing games whether playing with toys or running around the house and the Great Outdoors. If you’re looking for a goofball of love, no other dog comes closer than the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

History

It’s common knowledge that the Cardigan Welsh Corgi used to be used as a working dog, and would frequently be seen carrying out work like cattle driving, herding and guarding flocks, and hunting, but even back in the day, these dogs were still bred specifically for companionship because they’re just that great to have around.

While these dogs were believed to be the same breed as the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, they were officially identified as being separate around 1934, which is when they really started to gain popularity. Nowadays, these dogs are commonly seen throughout dog shows.

Personality

There’s no denying that the Cardigan Welsh Corgi are lovers of fun. These pups have a very balanced personality where they adore being around their family more than anything, and thanks to their small size, they only need a moderate amount of exercise and are suitable for houses of all sizes.
